We are always talking about how to save money while shopping or how to save up for something, that's why you're here isn't it? Well one of the ways I keep track of my money is by using Mint.com. I have been using Mint for over a year now, and I think it really helps.

Basically this site keeps track of all your accounts for you, and lets you know where you stand financially. There are a few things you should know

• The site is totally free!
• You create an account here- then link all of your accounts to it ( it is completely secure)
• Connect your credit card accounts
• Connect your bank accounts-checking and savings
• Connect your loans
• Connect your investments( IRAs, 401Ks
• Add your home and car as well
• Then you can look at different categories to see where you stand and what Mint recommends
• Cash versus Credit Card Debt
• Look at your Budget that Mint has come up with for you
• How you are doing with your pre-set goals
• You can also see the ways that Mint suggests for you to save money in different categories.

You will get a weekly email letting you know where you stand financially, your bank and credit card accounts update automatically so Mint always knows where you stand. If there is a problem with any accounts you will get an alert email as well.

These Peanut Butter Cookies are so easy and delicious!

1 cup of Peanut Butter
1 Egg
1 cup of Sugar

Blend together, form into balls then press down with a fork dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 for 8-12minutes.

Foodie Friday: Cooking Tips + A giveaway!

Cooking tips:
1.Preheat your pans- this makes a huge difference, especially when you want to sear instead of steam meat/veggies and more. Also make sure the oil or butter is hot before adding anything else.

2.Use a sharp knife to cut onions- this will help keep the tears away :)

3. When boiling veggies start with cold water then add the veggies and turn on the heat, this way they cook all the way through not just the outside.

There are two ways that I get new products for free to try: Vocalpoint and Kraft First Taste!

These two sites give out coupons for free products as well as send you samples. Right now Vocalpoint has a new mystery Kelloggs cereal sample they are mailing out. Kraft First Taste has coupons they are mailing out for free Jello Temptations.

Vocalpoint has send me coupons for free boxes of pasta and Kashi cereal. Kraft First Taste has given me high value coupons for different products such as Philly cooking cream.

Travel Tip Thursday

 

One of the biggest things I hate about flying, is the food... that mixed with the motion sickness-yuck! I find that actually eating helps though. So I usually pack some granola bars or banana chips and nuts. Something healthy and not too exciting.

So here is my best tip:
When traveling bring a packet of Oatmeal with you, then ask for a cup of hot water on the plane. Mix in the oatmeal and enjoy!

Irish Potatoes: the Recipe

These little bites of heaven are known as Irish Potatoes- be warned they are addictive.

Here is the Recipe:
1 pound of butter-room temperature
1 pound of cream cheese- room temperature
1 14oz bag of coconut
4lbs of powdered sugar
Cinnamon

With a mixer combined the butter and cream cheese, then add the coconut. Slowly add the powdered sugar until everything is well mixed.

Form into 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon. Refrigerate!
